Cultural tourism
An effective way to make scientific information about the Dacian civilization accessible to the public is to combine recreational and educational activities. For this purpose, in 2014 we created Dacica Guesthouse, the only touristic facility in the country that operates alongside a research institution.
Our guests benefit from mini-conferences and presentations about the Dacian fortresses, screenings of documentary films with historical themes and guided visits to the fortresses. We organize sessions of ancient gastronomy, with dishes cooked with ingredients and spices used in antiquity by the Dacians, but also by the Greeks or Romans, and experimental archeology activities for groups of children.
All events organized by Pensiunea Dacica, whether it is the TreKulture Mix musical weekend series or the Christmas, New Year or Easter holidays, include visits to historical sites, presentations, and discussions on historical topics.
